Job Title: Psychologist – Autism Pathway.
Location: London
Contract Type: Insourcing – Fixed-Term (30 Weeks initially)
Start Date: ASAP
Hours: Flexible (Full or Part-Time Options Considered)
Rate: Competitive Daily Rate.
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Psychologist (Clinical, Educational or Counselling) to support our Autism (ASD) assessment service as part of an insourcing contract. This 30-week fixed-term role is focused on reducing waiting times for neurodevelopmental assessments within the paediatric autism diagnostic pathway.
You will work alongside a multidisciplinary team, contributing to timely, high-quality autism assessments and diagnostic formulations. Clinics will be based at a single site with full administrative and clinical support.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver structured neurodevelopmental assessments for children and young people referred for suspected Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
• Participate in multidisciplinary diagnostic formulation in line with NICE guidelines
• Utilise diagnostic tools such as ADOS-2, 3Di, and structured clinical interviews
• Communicate effectively with families, schools, and external agencies throughout the assessment and feedback process
• Produce high-quality clinical documentation and diagnostic reports
• Support the service in maintaining compliance with quality standards and help reduce assessment backlogs efficiently
Essential Requirements:
• HCPC registration as a Practitioner Psychologist (Clinical, Educational or Counselling)
• Experience conducting autism assessments in a paediatric or CAMHS setting
• Familiarity with diagnostic tools such as ADOS-2, 3Di, or equivalent (training provided if required)
• Excellent report writing, formulation, and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
